Homemade Southern Banana Pudding

Homemade Southern Banana Pudding

Banana pudding is a Southern classic that can always be found for dessert at a family gathering. Though it may appear complicated with its many layers, making banana pudding from scratch is a breeze.

Layering the pudding, bananas, vanilla wafer cookies, and of course, cool whip makes for a great make ahead dessert, leaving your kitchen clean and orderly for company!!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (8 ounce) container whipped topping
  • 1 (12 ounce) box vanilla wafers
  • 4 medium ripe bananas, sliced

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together instant pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened.
  2. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and half of the whipped topping. Mix until smooth.
  3. In a large serving dish, layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding mixture. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with pudding on top.
  4. Spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer and chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.

ENJOY!!
